Find a need and fill it

‘Find a need and fill it’ is probably the oldest axiom in business.  Before, if you discover a consumer need and you can satisfy it, you’re on your way to business success.

While finding and filling a need is still applicable, today’s business landscape requires more than that. There are way more products and services than what we need as humans. As a result, choices are endless and the competition between providers is stiffer now, more than ever.

From product and service competition to keyword competition

With more and more consumers relying on the information they can find on the internet, businesses now have another different kind of competition – the digital one. The race is no longer all about providing the best and most cost-effective products/services. A new element to winning has come into play, and that is SEO strategy.  This means that the success of your business is no longer driven by quality alone. Your company’s search engine and keyword performance have a huge role in attaining continuous growth and attracting more customers.

Consumers today are more data-oriented. They want to have enough information about the products and services they use. In addition, they want to get to know your company and your products and/or services. They want to know what sets you apart from your competitors. And they do not just take your word for it – they listen to what your customers say about your business. More importantly, they care about what the search engine results have of you.

The relevant message to the target audience through the right channel

To compete and grab customers’ attention, you need an updated and responsive website. Your social media channels have to be active, engaging and communicate the relevant message to the target audience through the right social media channels. For example, if you are targeting professionals, informative posts on LinkedIn may be a better option than a video on Facebook. But if you are targeting younger demographics, you might want to focus on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

The ultimate strategy: GET FOUND.

You need to be visible! You have to dominate search engine rankings to remain competitive. Having an effective SEO strategy is necessary to ensure that your business is in a position of success. You may have the highest quality products or provide the most excellent service, but if customers can’t find you, they will use your competitors’ products and services.

“In a world where over 90% of online experiences start with a search, showing up on the front page of Google can be the deciding factor between a business that’s thriving and one that’s, well, bankrupt.”
